People are saying this is one of the most important elections in our country’s history. I don’t know if that is really true, but I do know that, as Americans, we all need to exercise our right to vote. That’s how a democracy works best. It is disheartening to see that maybe 50% of Americans typically vote in our elections. I expect that number to be much higher on this Tuesday, but it should be every citizens intention to vote in every election. When Abraham Lincoln, speaking at Gettysburg, said “that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth”, he knew that our country would face future challenges, but that the people of the United States of America would always have the opportunity to vote for the leaders they thought would best lead the country. Whatever your beliefs, use your right to vote on November 3rd.
